When I was 6 years old, I told my mum "If I don't get a horse, I'm going to die!" so she bought me one. (Not too spoiled, eh!?!) Since then I've had the privelege of owning and/or riding many cool horses. Through the years I've had a number of different breeds of horses and shown in a number of different disciplines. My jumping days are probably long over (I loved it when I did it though!), but I'm still trying new and different things...most recently adding Team Penning to my list. Still on my "to do" list (maybe "bucket list" is more apt! :/) are: Ride a really good cutting horse, and ride in the Rocky Mountains.
I very much miss the show pen, but for now am content being a "Horse Show Mom" and Show Secretary at the OAHA shows.
Several years ago I saw a quote that just seemed to sum things up for me...it's been my favorite ever since...
"Horses aren't my whole life, but they make my life whole."
